Your role and responsibilities

Join us as a Global Trade Excellence Manager, where you will play a key role in supporting the Motion Business Area to enhance global trade processes and compliance standards.In this role, your primary focus will be on supporting business functions in streamlining trade processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams, enhancing operational maturity, and ensuring compliance with global customs, export control, and sanctions standards.You are driven to uncover opportunities for cost savings and efficiency, while maintaining a customer-focused mindset that directly contributes to business value. With a proactive approach, you will ensure trade compliance not only protects the organisation but also drives and accelerates business growth.The Global Trade Excellence Manager is expected to have functional knowledge, support operational activities, and lead with a vision for improvement. This role involves working with global teams to develop best-in-class trade compliance practices, supporting operational excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing expert guidance.The work model for the role is: hybrid ; #LI-HybridYou will act as the point of contact for business functions globally, working with stakeholders across Supply Chain, Sales, Operations, and the global/local Trade community. You will report to the Motion Business Area Trade Manager.The ideal candidate is based in Europe. Business travel will be required occasionally (up to 20%).You will be mainly accountable for:•Operational Support: Act as the primary point of contact for business and global/local Trade functions, assist with trade execution, provide trade advisory, and support escalations. •Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement, gain business support, and empower cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve operational excellence and execution.•Change Management and Stakeholder Engagement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting innovation, collaboration, and accountability at all levels.•Measure Performance: Establish KPIs and metrics to measure progress, track results, and drive accountability for operational excellence initiatives.•Risk Management: Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in operational processes and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on business operations.•Technology Implementation and Best Practices: Research and implement new technologies, promote best practices, and support process standardisation globally to ensure consistency and excellence in execution and drive a culture of continuous improvement.You will join an exciting environment with various cross-functional activities with substantial visibility and overview, working on interesting projects around innovation and having autonomy and empowerment for decision-making.
Qualifications for the role
- Minimum 8 years of overall work experience in Logistics/Supply Chain Management with 3-5 years of focused experience on Trade Compliance.
- University degree in International Trade, Supply Chain / Logistics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge and proven experience in customs management, FTAs, and duty-saving programs are highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of export controls and sanctions concepts, with an emphasis on U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and U.S. sanctions programs.
- Proven track record of successfully driving operational excellence initiatives and delivering measurable results.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyse complex problems, identify root causes, and develop data-driven solutions.
- Experience with digital tools and process automation related to trade operations.
- Change / project management expertise.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, ability to coordinate, influence and lead without authority.
