Your tasks
The PhD position is part of the SNF project "ProMiSE: Process Mining Support for End-users" (197032). Within the ProMiSE project, we aim to gain a comprehensive understanding of the behavior of analysts engaging in process mining and, more precisely, in exploratory data analysis tasks. We will collect empirical evidence from practice and develop methodological guidance and software-based operational support for assisting novice analysts during process mining. Your tasks will include:
- data collection and analysis of data derived from the interactions of analysts with process mining software
- development and implementation of operational support for process mining users
Your profile
- you have a master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems (or related disciplines) and a background in process mining and/or data analytics
- you have good programming skills and preferably software engineering experience
- experience in conducting empirical research (user studies) are preferable
- you have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- you are motivated to publish results of your research at leading international venues on a regular basis
- you are motivated to work with an international team of distinguised researchers
- you are motivated by both personal and team accomplishments
The Software Systems Programming and Development Chair at the Institute of Computer Science covers both the development and evaluation of software artifacts. Our research focuses on adaptive software ranging from flexible process-oriented and event- driven systems to neuro-adaptive software systems and software development tools. We put special emphasis on topics in the fields of business process management (BPM) and process engineering, including process modeling, automation and mining. Moreover, we conduct research on human and cognitive aspects in software and process engineering.
