Your main tasks
The Center on Aging and Moblity is currently launching an ambitious interdisciplinary and international Aging Lab "Delay Biological Aging and Extend Health" taking advantage of the DO-HEALTH data and biobank, in collaboration with the DO-HEALTH Science Network at Harvard School of Public Health and the DO-HEALTH European Network. The program aims at predicting biological age acceleration early, by molecular profiles combined with comprehensive clinical and life-style information, and thereby identify interventions to delay biological aging. This would enable clinicians to transform prevention into precision medicine allowing more adults to stay active and healthy longer.
Your profile
Future candidates should have a doctoral degree in epidemiology or biostatistics in the field of aging and or nutrition. They should be fluent in English, able to program analyses in the SAS statistical language, and collaborate within an interprofessional team of MDs, PhDs, Doctoral Students, Movement Scientists, Nutrition Experts, Nurse Scientists and a clinical trial team. Candidates are expected to support doctoral students and master students, collaborate on analyses and grant writing efforts with the international DO-HEALTH Science Network and will have the possibility to write own research grants to pursue their own research agenda in aging research.
What we offer
The Centre on Aging and Mobility is located at the Waid City Hospital in Zurich, Switzerland, and belongs to the Department of Aging Medicine and Aging Research at the University of Zurich and University Hospital Zurich. The position is initially limited to 1 year, but extension is possible. Salary depends on experience.

The Center on Aging and Mobility (CAM) is an internationally recognized research centre for clinical research on healthy and active aging, sarcopenia and frailty. The CAM is the coordinating center of the large European DO-HEALTH trial & cohort extension, and the Swiss Personalized Health Network Driver Project on Frailty.
The Center on Aging and Mobility is led by Prof. Heike A. Bischoff-Ferrari, MD DrPH and is the science platform of the Chair of Aging Medicine and Aging Research at the University of Zurich. The Centre is closely linked to the University Hospital of Zurich and the University Clinic for Acute Geriatric Care at the City Hospital Waid and the Zurich Geriatric University Network.
