Research assistant/PhD-student in Econometrics (m/f/d)
Your tasks
The position is meant to support a young scientist through their doctoral research in Econometrics under the supervision of Prof. Preinerstorfer.
- The successful applicant will enter the Ph.D. program (GPEF, specialization: Econometrics);
- is expected to do research in theoretical econometrics and mathematical statistics with a focus on, e.g., high-dimensional decision problems ("Big data"), causality, or treatment assignment problems;
- will do some limited teaching assistance for the courses taught at the chair.
Your profile
- The requirements for entering the Graduate Programme in Economics and Finance (GPEF, at the University of St. Gallen) must be satisfied.
- A Master's or comparable degree with excellent grades in economics (with considerable coursework in mathematics and statistics), statistics, mathematics, or a closely related discipline (completed or pending completion).
- A promising potential for original research.
