Your responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of value proposition including sourcing strategy for well-known mechanical components (like e.g. gearboxes and couplings) which as such are unfamiliar to our electrically focused organization.
• Create upskilling material and lead the conduction of webinars with subject matter experts to support our global teams to build expertise in applications and offerings around turbine replacements.
• Target application is the replacement of Steam and Gas turbine by electrical drive train including Medium Voltage (MV) motors and Variable Speed Drives (VSD).
• The program is divided in three assignments: Assignment 1 (Switzerland): Packaging team to get familiar with VSD system in the range from 10 to 100MW, Assignment 2 (abroad): Motor factory in contact with the mechanical engineering team, Assignment 3 (Switzerland): to be defined
• Discover your interests and different functions/roles through challenging and impactful assignments where you are fully integrated into the team.

• Actively contribute to diverse social events and team activities and use the chance to establish a broad (global) network within ABB and be a part of the ABB Trainee Community.

Your background

• Completed master's degree university or applied science university in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related Engineering field (e.g. a background in Mechanical Engineering and max. 3 years of professional work experience before the start date October 1, 2024.
• Excellent knowledge of English; fluency or proficiency in German is a plus.
• Authorization to work in Switzerland is required (at least B permit).
