We are offering a highly motivated student the opportunity to complete a six-month internship in our instrumentation business line. You will work for ABB's Measurement & Analytics division and be part of ABB Research, joining teams of engineers and scientists with experience in sensing, embedded system, and signal processing.During your internship you will work on the next generation industrial sensors. Specifically, you will reduce the power consumption of a flow meter a hundredfold by reinventing the subsection of its embedded system.ABB's Measurement & Analytics division is among the world's leading manufacturers and suppliers of smart instrumentation and analyzers. Your responsibilities

  • Get familiar with the existing design
  • Rethink the signal processing algorithms
  • Reinvent the embedded system (excitation, acquisition, processing, power management, etc.)
  • Design a low power optimized version of the embedded system
  • Develop and evaluate the designed embedded system

Your background

  • Master student in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field; official enrollment essential
  • Solid understanding of embedded system
  • Experience in sensors, electronic design, or low power is advantageous
  • Fluent command of English, both written and spoken
  • Availability for six months (start/end dates can be discussed)
  • Non-EU/EFTA citizens, please note that a certificate from your university, showing that an internship is a mandatory part of studies, is required for the visa application
