As a Production Development Specialist, you will drive improvements in production of our UPS assembly, testing and packing in Power Protection, Smart Power, Electrification in Quartino, Tessin, Switzerland.Reporting to the Production Development Manager, your focus will be on optimizing the manufacturing process through innovation in a cost-effective way as well as insure the successful introduction of new products and technology into the production.

Your responsibilities
 

• Defining the sequence of the production process in line with material and investment budgets related to cycle-times and NVA activities reduction
• Ensuring optimal efficiency in production methods, equipment performance and materials/components
• Identifying and implementing improvements to the manufacturing process in line with cost, safety, and timing requirements
• Investigating new methods, technologies and changes in equipment and process design to meet specifications
• Defining action plans and training relevant maintenance and production resources and personnel to ensure smooth implementation of new processes and a skilled, competent team
• Consulting and working with production operators and supervisors to implement changes on the production line
• Working with multiple departments during the product develop phases to assure a successful introduction of new products. Including PFMEA, production line design, equipment tooling, work instructions, logistics concept and implementation
• Working with selected suppliers to develop their process and reduce cost while improving quality

Your background
 

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in production engineering, working as Production Development Specialist with Power Electronics assemblies
• Knowledge of continuous improvement tools/methodologies (FMEA, lean manufacturing, 5S, MTM, VSM, etc.)
• Experience working with SAP (master data experience), BOM analysis, work cycle
• A master's in business engineering and Production or equivalent
• Green Belt certified
• Fluent in English and Italian both written and spoken is a must
• Experience evaluating project costs and justification of capital projects
• A strong focus on safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines
• A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
