Part of the Motion Service team, you will work in our Center of Expertise set up for Medium Voltage drives Services and taking care of special tasks around our installed base of Drive Systems. Your area of activity spans from covering specific issue identification and resolution as expert to innovate and develop solutions that create value for our customers. As Drive System Expert, you will contribute significantly to technology and product development projects by identifying and implementing innovative solutions. In this role, you will use your technical knowledge and drive system expertise to oversee development tasks and to contribute to strategic technology plans and the project portfolio and guide new solutions towards successful customer project implementation.

Your responsibilities

• Solving complex industrial problems, and reviewing current technologies to choose effective applications, equipment and methods for new products or software
• Performing a variety of complex technology/engineering assignments, typically utilizing advanced, innovative techniques
• Leading the technical aspects of customer issues resolution process by leading the technical resolution team and supporting project management in customer interaction
• Providing expert assistance for projects and colleagues, acting as a mentor and disseminating lessons learned and train team members
• Keeping up to date with technologies, tools and methods, and implementing initiatives to improve operations and customer satisfaction
• Providing consulting services to business operations and customers, and representing the group/team in engineering
• Developing project IP strategies, as well as identifying and managing risks in R&D projects

Your background

• Several years of experience in Drive system design and simulation, working as design engineer with medium voltage power trains, special focus on voltage source converters and related system simulations.
• Profound knowledge of system simulation eg MatlabSimulink, PSCAD, Spice based simulations and the industrial markets in both traditional and renewable applications
• Mastering design and operation of real time simulation HW and SW in drives applications
• A solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
• PhD or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with good understanding of electro-mechanical system interaction
• A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills in English; German language knowledge would be a plus
• Excellent stake holder management, networking capability and communication skills to establish and maintain relationship with all relevant functions to ensure project success
